Trace metals such as lead (Pb) and antimony (Sb) promote spangle formation.\n\nLead is also known for its effectiveness in decreasing the surface tension of zinc; allowing it to flow easily.\nHowever, this visual property comes at cost; as Lead is a toxic substance with severe health risks upon exposure. It can also have negative effect on the performance of galvanized steel sheets.\n\nLarge amounts of lead in zinc can lead to darkening of the spangles over time as well as delayed adhesion failure.\n\nThe maximum safe limit for the amount of lead in zinc specified in SASO ASTM &amp; ASTM A653\/A653M is (90 mg\/kg).\n\nInductive coupled plasma (ICP) is considered one of the most accurate
