Coating Weight Test

Purpose of Test:
Metals are important in creating an effective barrier of protection against corrosion in steel products.

The coating weight (mass) of a metallic coated steel sheet is measured for comparison with specification or customer’s requirement.

Device/Machine: Calibrated Analytical Precision Weighing Balance and Digital Micrometer.

External Calibration Frequency: 
 • Digital Micrometer : Once a year
 • Analytical Precision Weighing Balance: Once a year

Approximate  Test Duration: Sample preparation and test time: 30 minutes
