Dry Film Thickness Test

Purpose of Test:
To measure the dry film thickness (DFT) of each layer of organic coated material by microscopic observation of a precision-cut shallow-angle crater in the coating film.

The thickness of individual layers of paint (Primer, Top coat, Barrier coat etc.,) are measured.

Device/Machine: Equipment supplied by DJH Designs.

Calibration Frequency:

o  Dry Film thickness measuring Instrument: Once a week

Approximate  Test Duration:

o  Sample preparation and Test time: 30 minutes
