Salt Spray Test

Purpose of Test:
This practice provides a controlled corrosive environment which has been utilized to produce relative corrosion resistance information for specimens of Organic and / or Metallic coated steel sheets exposed in a test chamber.

The coated material is exposed to corrosive condition within a salt spray cabinet. Corrosion is monitored throughout a specified period of time.

This test is a simulation to predict the expected life of metallic and organic Coated steel sheets upon exposure to marine conditions.
