Scratch Resistance Test

Purpose of Test:

The organic coating on steel sheets are often damaged by scratches during manufacturing or end service usage.

This method uses a Scratch Tester to measure the resistance of coatings to permanent deformation by mechanical means whereby the sample is dragged beneath a needle upon which a specified load is placed

Device/Machine: Scratch Apparatus.

Approximate  Test Duration:

o  Sample preparation and Test time: 30 minutes
